2nd Annual Bill Walser Memorial Astrophotography Contest

This second year we would like to ask participants in the Staunton River Star Party to submit prints of their own astrophotographs taken at Staunton River no larger than 11x14 inch for consideration in a “crowd favorite” contest in two categories: Deep Space on out (photos of the Big Bang given special consideration) and Solar System on down (including landscapes, bobcats, etc.). Prints should be mounted on Gator Board or similar substrate but frames are not necessary. Prints will be displayed in the Lecture Hall and each star party registrant will be allowed to vote for three entries and the Grand Prize winner will be selected on Saturday on the basis of total number of votes. Feel free to bring in prints of any size and from any observing site for public viewing but the contest will be based on prints within the size restriction from photos taken at Staunton River. Any questions should be sent to Walter Fowler. If you are not ready this year, please consider next year and be sure to take a look at this year's entries!
