Airport Fashion – What To Wear And What Not To Wear

For many of us, going to the airport means the start of something special. Whether we are jetting off on a wonderful vacation with our family, are heading away for a romantic weekend with our significant other, or some other exciting adventure, we all love to look out best when we heading away. So what is the right airport fashion for your upcoming journey? Let’s take a look at a few tips to get you started.

Keep It Comfortable

Have you ever spotted those people who have not opted for a comfortable outfit when at the airport? Granted, they may certainly look like they have just stepped off the catwalk, however, what happens when they need to run for their gate at the last minute? That’s right, airports are notorious for only putting up the gate number within moments of needing to be there. That is why the typical scene we all see at airports is that of people hovering over the announcement spots and then suddenly grabbing their case and making a mad dash in the direction they need to go. It’s times like this that we can sorely regret our airport fashion choice if we have put the catwalk look before the cool, comfortable attire which is really needed.

Of course, this sure doesn’t mean that you need to dress in a drab unfashionable way. That being said, airports really are not places for your highest stiletto heels! Opt for footwear which is comfortable, yet still makes you feel good.

Layers Are Your Friend

Airports are funny places when it comes to temperature. You may find spots that are toasty warm, while other areas have a draught coming in or are simply less well heated. Of course, you do not always get to choose where you need to wait at the airport. Granted, while you are awaiting your gate number to be shown you can opt for a cafe or restaurant or a comfortable waiting area spot, however, once you know where you are going the chances are you will be left with little choice as to where you need to wait, whether standing in line or seated. This is where layers really come into their own. They give you the ability to peel one off if you are feeling a little too warm or put one on if the chill factor is starting to hit you. Now, we are not talking about lots of layers here, that would just be annoying! However, one or two layers that can easily be placed in your bag or carried can come in very useful.

Indeed, we all like to look good when we are traveling and heading to the airport often signals an exciting time ahead. Remember, while you want to look stylish and fashionable at the airport, you need to choose comfort at the same time. Couple this choice with a few layers to keep your body temperature at the right level and you are well on your way to having a great start to your trip!
